RecruitLook Hoops Youth League

NEXT UP

2020 Information

We’re excited to announce the launch of the RecruitLook Hoops NEXT UP League that will feature premiere clubs at the 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels.

Expanding off our success in the high school market, we’ll now be operating a stand-alone Youth League that mirrors that of our High School League. Teams from across the country will compete in 3 total events — 2 events featuring showcase style games, followed by a bracket finale championship to determine who is NEXT UP.

“We’re excited for our groups to join this youth league. Mike and his staff always run quality events with quality competition,” says Bob Franzese, OSA Crusaders. “RecruitLook Hoops hits on everything we’re looking for when it comes to playing in events, and we look forward to the next opportunity.”

The conclusion of the League happens in St. Louis where the top hoopers from the League get invited to the Larry Hughes Elite Youth Camp. The invite only camp will feature instruction from NBA veteran, Larry Hughes. Along with Larry’s expertise, campers will receive top-level instruction from the area’s best high school coaches and former professional players. Additionally, RecruitLook Hoops media will provide recruiting coverage and media distribution.

“Larry is passionate about spreading his basketball knowledge to the younger generation, which aligns with our vision and overall goal of RecruitLook Hoops,” says Mike Enright, Founder of RecruitLook. “It’s paramount that we have an influential partner like Larry to assist with the development of the next generation of basketball players.”

The 3-event Youth League and camp begin in early May.

NEXT UP : The RecruitLook Hoops Youth League will follow a similar format as our high school league.  Teams will play 2 sessions of scheduled games and move up & down the standings based on the wins/losses of their games. Each session will consist of 4 games. The conclusion of the NEXT UP LEAGUE will be the Finale where standings from the previous events determine the seedings. Winner take all!

Each session is a 4-game guarantee. The standings will be determined by a point system.

Teams do not have to participate in the League to play in our events. Every League Event is considered an OPEN RUN too.

Teams that want to come and compete in the 11u-14u divisions are more than welcome to play. We will evaluate your team and players for future consideration in the NEXT UP League, as well as invites to the Larry Hughes Elite Youth Camp.

League teams get price discounts, more features from our scouts, and increased opportunities to get invited to the Larry Hughes Elite Youth Camp.

We want to make this a great experience for everyone involved. We want you to be proud of the League that you are in. We know that the best advertising and marketing is word-of-mouth, and we’ll strive to make a lasting impression on you.

Our team has been running events for decades, and we know that attention to details, big or small, is key when running an event. We’ll make sure that your time on the NEXT UP :  RecruitLook Hoops Youth League is enjoyable.

A look at the high school version of the Larry Hughes Elite Camp.

The Larry Hughes Elite Youth Camp will be similar -- invite only to the top participants during the league sessions.

RecruitLook Hoops was proud to present the Larry Hughes Elite Camp on August 10-11, 2019 in St. Louis. This was an invite-only camp that brought in some of the top high school basketball recruits from across the country. The two-day event featured a mixture of 60 national recruits in the 2020, 2021, and 2022 recruiting classes – all getting the chance to learn from NBA-veteran and skills trainers.

The Larry Hughes Elite Camp provided athletes an opportunity to showcase their skills against elite competition, while also learning more about the game of basketball and life-skills from special guests. In addition to the drill work and skills sessions, the camp focused on teaching valuable lessons off the court.

This camp featured wearable technology that tracked everything that the athletes did on the court. Campers wear the device, and the Kinexon platform takes over from there — providing valuable data that will give college coaches a better idea of what athletes can do on the court.

Larry Hughes

Hughes has an impressive resume having played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Sacramento Kings, Charlotte Bobcats, and Orlando Magic. He was drafted by Philadelphia in the 1st round of the 1998 NBA Daft out of Saint Louis University, where he was named Freshman of the Year. He was recognized as a versatile and athletic guard with strong defensive abilities, and was selected to the 2004-05 NBA All-Defensive 1st Team as a member of the Wizards.

Justin Tatum

Even though now he’s mostly know as “Jayson Tatum’s Dad”, Justin Tatum is one of the top high school basketball coaches in the country. Justin played college ball at St. Louis University where he helped lead his team to a Conference Championship and NCAA tourney appearance in 2000.  Since then, he’s shifted his focus to coaching, where he’s eclipsed 200 wins and 4 state title game appearances — winning twice.
